Burn-In Stick

A Burn-In Stick is typically used to fill deep gashes, scratches and holes. First clean loose wood and debris from the area, and then use a hot knife (either electric or a knife heated over a flame) to melt the stick (starting at the end of the stick) into the area to be filled. Once the area is filled, apply Touch-Up Burn Balm to the undamaged area around the repaired area to protect the finish while the hot knife is used to smooth out the repair. It may sound complicated, but it really isn’t. Repairs are durable and permanent. We recommend covering the repaired area with a coat of finish using the Touch-Up Clear Finish Pen, which is perfect for the job.
